In early October, 70 of the clubs members travelled down to Newquay in high spirits to support their fellow surfers in the largest European student surf competition – BUCS.

With over 350 students competing and 30 university’s, competition was high. Swansea successfully battled through 3 days worth of heats, with the men’s team bagging 2nd, and club president, Rhys Poulton, placing 3rd in the individuals. The club definitely have gold in their sights for next year.

Sun and clean waves are on the horizon for the club. Fuertaventura awaits them in January for their annual winter trip.

The fun club is growing day by day and is most definitely one not to miss out on. Check their Facebook page ‘Swansea University Surf Club 2016’ for more information.
