Haikus from the Plague-Lands

“Haikus from the Plague-Lands”
by Benjamin Nichols

1. Nature goes to sleep,
The silly apes keep routine,
The dark winter starts.

2. Spring a distant thought;
Once the good survive the plague,
Flowers await them.

3. Ignorant masses
Among the homes and loved ones
But still we fight on.
